Date Posted:  Wednesday, 25th October 2006

The test procedure for determining hazardous substances, IEC 62321 to support RoHS compliance has been rejected by the IEC National Committees although UK voted positively and a number of member counties abstained. This was made public in an IEC paper on the 13 October 2006.

Only 12 members’ votes were in favour which equals 52% when 67% was required to pass and therefore the draft was REJECTED.

The Practices in the draft can be used by industry and others but the rational to do should be documented.
