New Exemptions

On the 14 October 2006, the European Union published, in Official Journal L283 Volume 49, nine further exemptions to the RoHS Directive.

Exemptions numbers 21 to 29 can be down loaded from:

Of the current 29 exemptions;

- 4 exemptions are for mercury;

- 21 exemptions are for Lead;

- 1 exemption, No 28 for Hexavalent Chromium IV expiring on the 1st July 2007;

- 1 exemption for Cadmium; and

- 2 exemptions, Nos 9 & 10 discussing mixed substance exemptions.

Manufactures should carefully document the use of theses exemptions, as it will take time for Member States to implement them into national Legislation.
